Lil' Flower and Fireman Crochet Hats

Spring is surely here~~!!! Yes, even if it DID snow today here in northwest Pennsylvania! With spring comes lots of fun and exciting new designs and below are just two of my newest. The first is a spring flower that my little girls thought would be super cute and I sure love it. The other design is a Fireman hat with hand stitched personalized detailing.

When my girls asked me if I could make a flower, my mind was flooded with different designs that would work. So as this started forming on my hook I quickly got really excited to see it completed. The top is the center of the flower then I added ruffle edges to represent the petals of the flower. Then I used the light green like a "stem" around the bottom. It looks super sweet and love how it came together!

The fireman was a great idea from one of my customers who wanted this one for a baby shower and 2 for her own daughters in the fall time. When it came to designing this one I spent a little time looking at real firefighter's helmet to get a good feel on what I wanted it to look like. I started by making 5 triangle shapes for the sides of the hat and they crocheted them together to form the top of the hat. Then I crocheted around and then made a brim, making sure it was bigger in the back. I then made the name plate in the front with the father's department number hand stitched, so it was personalized just for them. With the popularity of the volunteer departments in our area I'm guessing this will be a big hit! The lady actually sent me a message after her friend received it at the shower that the Momma squealed with excitement. I feel the same way, this newborn fireman hat came out SO stinking cute!!!!

There are many more orders on my list that I am looking forward to making. So keep checking back for more of my designs that come straight from my heart to the hook with no patterns. If you'd like to follow me daily, I can be found on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/CDbyNicole
With a hook and a prayer, crocheting with Love from me to You.
